LOS ANGELES, Calif. — July 15, 2026 — (KOREWIRE) — The Super Crowd, Inc., a public benefit corporation making money a force for good, today released a geographic analysis of the inaugural PurposeBuilt100™, revealing that the 100 fastest-growing purpose-driven companies on the list are headquartered across 29 states.
California led all states with 23 winners, followed by Pennsylvania with nine and Florida with eight. Colorado, Georgia, New York, North Carolina and Texas each produced five winners.
But the state-by-state analysis also revealed a deeper story: purpose-driven growth is not simply following population size or gross domestic product. When adjusted for population and state GDP, smaller and mid-sized states emerged as some of the most concentrated hubs of PurposeBuilt100 winners.
Delaware had the highest representation relative to both population and GDP, with three winners from a state that would be expected to produce only a fraction of one company under a simple proportional distribution. Utah also stood out, with three winners—nearly three times what a population- or GDP-based distribution would predict. Colorado and Pennsylvania also significantly outperformed both baselines.
A sortable list of all 100 PurposeBuilt100 winners, including company names, websites and headquarters states, is available here: https://datawrapper.dwcdn.net/xr2SU/2/
“The PurposeBuilt100 map tells a hopeful story about American entrepreneurship,” said Devin Thorpe, CEO and founder of The Super Crowd, Inc. “California’s leadership is clear, but this list also shows that purpose-driven growth is not confined to Silicon Valley, New York or any single startup corridor. We are seeing companies built on purpose and proven by growth in places like Utah, Delaware, Pennsylvania, Colorado, Georgia, North Carolina, Texas and across the country.”
PurposeBuilt100 recognizes companies that combine measurable business growth with meaningful social or environmental purpose. The inaugural list was announced alphabetically earlier this month. The ranked list will be revealed live during SuperCrowd26 featuring PurposeBuilt100, a three-day televised event taking place August 25–27, 2026.
“Utah has a remarkable culture of building, service and innovation, and we’re proud for Storyline Health to be part of that story,” said Jeff Barson, CEO and co-founder of Storyline Health Inc., one of three Utah companies named to the inaugural PurposeBuilt100. “Recognition like this helps show that purpose-driven companies can scale while staying focused on the people and communities they serve.”
California’s 23 winners represented nearly one-quarter of the inaugural list, including companies working across climate, health, financial empowerment, food, technology, consumer products and other sectors.
“Being named to the PurposeBuilt100 is especially meaningful because it recognizes both growth and purpose,” said Danielle Godfrey, CEO of SetApart Accountancy Corp., a California-based PurposeBuilt100 winner, SuperCrowd26 speaker and event sponsor. “At SetApart, we believe business can be a vehicle for healing, empowerment and independence. This recognition helps amplify that message.”
The analysis also highlights which states did not appear on the inaugural list. Twenty-one states and the District of Columbia had no winner headquartered there this year, underscoring both the selectivity of the list.
“Every recognition program reflects the companies that apply, the companies that can be identified and the companies that qualify,” Thorpe said. “Our goal is for PurposeBuilt100 to become a national institution that gives visibility to purpose-driven companies in every region of the country. This first-year map gives us a strong foundation—and a clear invitation to reach even farther next year.”

Methodology Note
The PurposeBuilt100 geographic analysis is based on headquarters state data for the 100 companies named to the inaugural list. Population-adjusted comparisons were calculated by comparing each state’s actual number of winners to the number expected if the 100 winners were distributed according to each state’s share of U.S. population. GDP-adjusted comparisons were calculated using each state’s share of U.S. gross domestic product.
