MBM Auto Renew announced on June 18, 2026, that the shop is officially a 3M Paint Protection Film preferred installer. The notice appeared on the company’s Facebook page and described the status as the result of crew training provided for that film line. The post did not introduce a new service category. Paint protection film was already listed on the MBM Auto Renew website. The June announcement records a named-product installer designation and a manufacturer warranty term attached to that film.
The same post stated that 3M offers a 10-year warranty on the film. That figure matches language already on the company homepage FAQ, which describes self-healing films with warranties of up to 10 years and expected film service life often in the seven-to-10-year range. The 10-year term in the June post is a product warranty attributed to 3M, not a blanket promise covering every service the shop performs. MBM Auto Renew states separately that all services come with a quality assurance guarantee and that specific warranty terms depend on the service provided. The website does not publish a single term length or a list of exclusions for that shop guarantee. Workmanship coverage and the 3M film warranty are therefore separate.
“The preferred-installer notice is about who trained the crew on this film and what warranty the manufacturer attaches to the material,” said Michael Beck, founder of MBM Auto Renew. “It is not a claim that every panel on every vehicle leaves with a 10-year clock. Film coverage still depends on the package installed and on the product terms that come with that film.”
The company site describes paint protection film as a physical barrier against rock chips, gravel common on Michigan highways, bug splatter, road debris, salt damage, and minor scratches. MBM Auto Renew installs model-specific kits and fully custom film for cars, trucks, SUVs, and specialty vehicles, and lists Mustangs, Broncos, and Corvettes among popular models for that work. Full custom film work typically takes two to five days. A homepage FAQ distinguishes film from ceramic coating: film provides impact protection, while coating is described as chemical and hydrophobic defense, including easier cleaning, ultraviolet resistance, and gloss. Combined use—film on high-impact areas, coating over the rest of the vehicle and over film—is presented as a common sequence, not a requirement of the 3M designation.
Ceramic coating claims on the shop’s ceramic page remain the company’s own service descriptions. That page says professional-grade coatings can last several years, with longevity dependent on maintenance and environmental exposure, and attributes resistance to ultraviolet rays, oxidation, chemical stains, and environmental contaminants to those coatings. No independent laboratory study is cited on the website. The June 3M post does not assign a coating term or a coating manufacturer to the preferred-installer status.
Paint correction, window tinting, and paintless dent repair stay on the service list and were not part of the June certification notice. Paint correction is described as a clear-coat refining process that can address surface-level swirl marks, fine scratches, oxidation, water spots, light etching, and dullness. Deeper scratches that go through the clear coat may not be fully removable. Technicians are directed to explain what can be safely corrected and what may remain. Typical paint correction time is two to eight hours. Window tinting is listed for heat, glare, and ultraviolet exposure, typically two to four hours for a standard sedan. Paintless dent repair is listed for door dings, hail, and minor contact when factory paint can be preserved.
The June post thanked the trainers who worked with the crew and said quality of installation was the shared standard with the film supplier. It did not publish the trainers’ names, a course title, or a certificate number. Those details are therefore not stated here.
“Film still has to be cut, aligned, and finished on a clean panel,” Beck said. “The 3M designation records the product line and the training the crew completed for that line. Inspection and prep do not change because the supplier name is on the roll.”
