Our new Birmingham HQ: What it means for nonprofits, YMCAs, and the communities we serve

Birmingham, United States - October 24, 2026 / Daxko /

October 22, 2026 — Birmingham, Alabama — Daxko, the leading software provider for the health, fitness, and wellness industry, today announced plans to establish its headquarters in downtown Birmingham – a decision that underscores its commitment to the city as its global headquarters.

Daxko’s new headquarters, located at 1728 Third Avenue North, Birmingham, Alabama, 35203, will be the global hub and active center of innovation for Daxko’s 850+ global employees, including its 130+ Birmingham-based employees.

As the company builds on its reputation as the premier SaaS company for health, fitness, and wellness across multiple segments, the new headquarters will create a central place for employees to connect, offer customers a world-class space to meet and explore solutions, and reconnect Daxko to its legacy as one of the South’s earliest SaaS software company – all anchored in the vibrant culture of the Magic City.

"Daxko was among the first technology companies to call Birmingham home, helping put the city on the map as a place where software companies could start and scale,” said Jeff VanDixhorn, CEO, Daxko. “As the industry evolved, our focus stayed close to home, building technology trusted by nonprofit organizations that anchor communities and the gyms and studios that keep them moving, now powering 19,000 locations and 25 million members in 55 countries.”

Daxko's downtown headquarters marks a new chapter built on the company's long legacy in Birmingham: stepping into downtown Birmingham's tech community as a visible, engaged steward of the talent and possibility here.

An investment in Birmingham’s future

Daxko will move all existing 130+ Birmingham-based positions to the City of Birmingham in April 2027 when the new office opens. The company projects its Birmingham-based team to grow up to 200+ over the next three years.

“Daxko's products touch nearly every corner of health and wellness,” said Mayor Randall Woodfin, City of Birmingham. “If you've enjoyed a CrossFit workout, visited a yoga studio, or attended a class at your local YMCA, chances are you've used their technology. Having a global company of this caliber choose downtown Birmingham as its headquarters is a tremendous vote of confidence in our city, and it's proof that Birmingham is where world-class businesses come to grow.”

“Daxko’s move underscores the vital role connectivity and a vibrant urban core play in corporate relocation,” said David Fleming, President and CEO of REV Birmingham. “By locating its headquarters alongside the existing innovation ecosystem in The Switch district, Daxko is strengthening downtown’s appeal, helping drive continued growth, and benefiting from a location with high visibility and walkability.”

REV Birmingham is a place-based revitalization and economic development nonprofit that supported site selection for Daxko’s new downtown headquarters.

Why Birmingham makes sense for Daxko

Daxko was founded in 1998 and is one of Alabama’s first and most successful technology companies, demonstrating the talented workforce the region offers to fast-growing SaaS businesses as early as the late 1990s. Daxko is a pioneer of the Birmingham technology ecosystem.

When it became clear that Daxko had outgrown its current office space in Homewood, Alabama, the company took the opportunity to dream big about what location, proximity, and the culture downtown Birmingham could do to supercharge its mission to power wellness and improve lives.

The move comes as Daxko has been on a growth streak with the 2025 declaration of itself as an AI-first business and the 2026 acquisitions of Mumbai-based FitnessForce, a membership management platform built for multi-location, franchise, and international fitness operators, and Alaris, a childcare management software provider. As the company continues to expand, certain roles will be available only to Birmingham-based candidates, while other roles will give preference to Birmingham-based candidates.

Building for Daxko's people

Birmingham-based Daxko employees will work a hybrid schedule of two to three days per week in the office. Daxko employees will have access to an onsite fitness studio and state-of-the-art offices. A secure parking garage is attached to the building.

“This move is, in many ways, a homecoming,” said Concetta Lewis, SVP, People, Daxko. “Daxko helped establish Birmingham's earliest tech roots. Today, as the city's downtown has become a hub for innovation and talent, we're returning to be part of that energy. We’re excited to invest in the same community that gave us our start and help build the city's reputation as a tech talent hub.”

With Daxko’s investment in downtown Birmingham as its global headquarters, the company’s remote and international workforce will have a chance to visit the Magic City for company-wide and team-specific meetings.

Recommitting to Birmingham’s tech ecosystem

Daxko founder Tom Patterson and former CEO Dave Gray laid the foundation of the strong legacy Daxko enjoys today. Their work in building and scaling Daxko put the company on the map as a leader in the fitness software industry and an employer of choice in Birmingham and across the nation. In fact, Daxko alumni have gone on to found other notable ventures, including Fleetio, Airship, Partner Fleet, Grades First, Boulo Solutions, and Compose, among others.

To play its part in fostering the tech talent Daxko needs in Birmingham and to be a good neighbor, the company is committing to opening the new Daxko headquarters for community events and offering it as a showpiece for Birmingham. Daxko will be announcing several partnerships and events as a celebration of its grand opening in the months ahead.

Welcoming Daxko customers to the heart of Birmingham

Daxko customers can expect the Birmingham headquarters to highlight the company’s new product innovations via customer roundtables, prospect visits, and customer conferences, as well as host meetings for Daxko’s Customer Advisory Boards.

"Long before Birmingham's tech scene had a name for itself, Daxko was already writing the code,” said Matt Popinski, Chief Customer and Payments Officer, Daxko. “Now, as the city's innovation district comes into its own, we're bringing our headquarters back to the center of it.”
