Comfort Professor has completed a Bryant multi-zone ductless heat pump installation for the Woburn Elks Club, a long-standing community organization in Woburn, Massachusetts. The project modernized the facility's climate control systems, replacing aging equipment with a flexible, zone-based heating and cooling solution designed to serve the building's many distinct areas.

The Woburn Elks Club previously relied on approximately ten hydronic air handlers and two large rooftop cooling units. Much of that equipment had reached the end of its service life, and the club sought a system capable of delivering individualized temperature control across function rooms, offices, bathrooms, hallways, and common areas. A multi-zone ductless design was selected because it allows each space to be heated or cooled independently based on occupancy and need.

The scope of the work was substantial. Comfort Professor installed nine Bryant outdoor heat pumps paired with a range of indoor units, including ceiling cassettes, wall-mounted units, and ducted equipment matched to the requirements of each zone. The installation of a Bryant ductless heat pump installation in Woburn Massachusetts took place between June 30 and July 10, 2026, and included a five-year commercial parts warranty and a two-year labor warranty.

Retrofitting an older building presented notable challenges. Finished ceilings, brick walls, and concealed mechanical infrastructure complicated the routing of refrigerant piping, drainage, and electrical connections. The Bryant multi-zone ductless heat pump installation was planned to minimize disruption to the building's existing finishes while still reaching every area that required conditioning.

"The Woburn Elks Club needed a system that could adapt to the way different rooms are actually used throughout the day," said Robert Skinner of Comfort Professor. "Older buildings like this one require careful planning because every room has its own layout and demands. The inverter-driven technology adjusts output based on real-time conditions, which means each zone receives only the heating or cooling it needs."

The completed system is expected to reduce the club's reliance on aging equipment while improving temperature consistency and lowering operating and maintenance costs over time. According to project documentation, the installation qualified for approximately 57,000 dollars in rebates and tax credits, though the final status of those incentives is subject to verification.

"A project of this scale reflects how commercial and community facilities across the region are rethinking their approach to climate control," Skinner added. "Delivering a modern solution without major reconstruction of the building was a central goal, and the zone-based design made that possible."

The Woburn Elks Club project adds to Comfort Professor's record of customized heating and cooling installations for commercial and community facilities throughout Greater Boston.
